Swing as a proven way to deal with childhood sadness and worries

Children, just like adults, have good and bad days. Is there anything you can do to quickly improve their mood? It is best to offer something that has always brought them pleasure. A swing will work very well in this case. After all, there is probably no child who does not love to swing.

Swing for sorrows and worries

A quarrel at kindergarten, a quarrel with siblings or a bad mood in the morning – there is probably no parent who has not had to deal with such situations. A conversation or, for example, a hug does not always help. What then? A joint trip to the swing will definitely work. To make this trip easier, it is best to get a home swing or, if possible, invest in a playground in the garden, because it also includes a swing. Then this type of activity will become more accessible and will not be as time-consuming as it was when going together, for example, to the playground near the block of flats. Besides, there are often queues for the swing there, and such a previously angry or sad toddler will probably not be happy about it (and may not have as much patience).

While swinging, children forget about all their worries, sorrows and concerns. You could even say that they “switch off” in a way. Usually, they go into the world of their own imagination and do what gives them the greatest pleasure. Sometimes they start singing or just laugh out loud – one thing is for sure, their mood quickly improves and later it is easier to discuss a given difficult or problematic issue with them, if of course such a need arises.

Swing as a way to “reset” and regenerate

It’s not just adults who can get tired. Children also have their own responsibilities and sometimes they get overwhelmed. Then they too could use a quick way to regenerate their strength. A swing can be a great help with that. After all, a few minutes of swinging can replace passive rest in front of the TV or computer. If there’s a swing in front of the house, the child will benefit doubly because in addition to resting, they’ll also get some oxygen. Then it’ll be easier for them to get back to their schoolwork.

Swing as a “socialization gadget”

Some children are a bit withdrawn or simply shy. It is harder for them to make friends and meet other (new) children. Perhaps having your own garden swing will quickly change this. After all, children from the neighbourhood will always be happy to come over to meet a new friend and play with them, especially if there is a new swing in the house or in the garden. This way, our little one will not have to get involved in establishing new relationships on his own. If children come to him on their own and of their own free will, he will feel more confident and it will help him a lot. Then at least some of his sorrows and worries will be dispelled, and that is a lot (for both the child and his parent).

A swing instead of other toy – why is it worth?

Children very quickly swap new toys for new ones, and then the “old” ones end up in the corner and no one plays with them anymore. In order not to have a house cluttered with unused toys, it is worth paying more attention to what you buy for your child. So instead of buying them a doll or blocks again, this time you can go for something that will be just as attractive in a week, a month, or even a year. This “something” can be a swing (e.g. a stork’s nest, a cocoon, or a classic swing with a backrest or a frame). After all, if your child loves spending time on the playground and never denies themselves the pleasure of swinging there, you can be sure that it will be the same at home or in the garden.

Swing as a creative element of the children’s room equipment

Children can “transform” any household equipment into something completely different. It will be similar with a swing, because on the battlefield it will most likely become a cannon or a bridgehead for a clever warrior. In turn, in the royal palace it will transform into a magnificent royal throne. There are really many possibilities, because each game is governed by completely different rules. It depends on the children what will become what. It is important for them to have objects in their immediate environment that will easily undergo such creative metamorphoses. It is worth remembering that this type of play shapes children’s creativity, imagination, and even logical thinking. All these competences or skills will be very useful to them later, also in adult life.
