Hello! This is Małpiszon, who will take you step by step through the process of installing the Next 1 exercise ladder on the wall. To quote the classic: “Rome wasn’t built in a day”, so I won’t promise that it will be an express installation, but I will try to install our ladder as quickly as possible. Yes, I know – not everyone likes reading instructions. However, there is no point in getting discouraged, because the instructions from MAŁPISZON.pl are one of a kind and written in such a way that the subsequent stages are a pleasure to follow. Each step is illustrated and commented on by my humble, monkey persona. In just a few quarters of an hour, the ladder will be installed, and both the little and the big Małpiszon will be able to swing on it – let’s get to work!
Valuable advice:
Do not attach the ladder to walls covered with wainscoting.
Do not attach the ladder to stretched walls.
Do not attach the ladder to walls made of kg board.
The only suitable ceiling or wall for mounting our ladder is a wall or a concrete or brick ceiling.
To make your work easier, first prepare the workspace – get rid of all unnecessary objects from the floor and unpack our set on it. In the package with the ladder you will find a list of the parts of the set and assembly elements such as covers or screws.
To speed up the process of installing the ladder, ask a second person to help.
Requirements for mounting wall ladders
Wall gymnastics ladders, which are the most popular and classic model, are mounted to the load-bearing wall using angle brackets. The angle brackets are attached to the ladder posts on one side and to the side wall of the room on the other. During assembly, care is taken to place the rung axis at a distance of at least 10.5 cm from the wall, which provides free access for the hands when grabbing the rungs and comfortable space for the legs when climbing. Ladders up to 260 cm high require the use of at least four angle brackets, two for each post. The wall is attached using expansion bolts and screws with a recommended length of 80 mm, while maintaining a wall thickness of no less than 120 mm.
A suitable place for the ladder – maintaining safety zones
Remember to maintain a safety zone, i.e. free space around the ladder. There should be no unnecessary objects or furniture in it that the training person could collide with. Also pay attention to maintaining the distance from the door – the zone cannot overlap the opening arc of the door leaf. Details regarding the shape and dimensions of the safety zone are presented in the graphic below.
Safety rules
Before we get to the point and start assembling the training and contortion equipment for monkeys, I will present you with a few more basic safety rules. Here they are:
One person can exercise on the ladder at a time.
The ladder is suitable for children over three years of age.
Children up to seven years of age should play on the ladder under the supervision of a parent.
Do not jump directly from the transverse ladder to the floor. If you are planning on doing acrobatics with jumping, place a gymnastics mat under the ladder. This type of mattress does not have to take up much space – our offer includes foldable mattresses that can be stored away when you are not exercising.
This ladder model should not be used by two people at the same time.
Assembly instructions
Okay – now that the place for the ladder has been chosen and the safety rules have been read, we can start assembling the gymnastics ladder. I will guide you through it step by step and leave you with a few valuable tips – let’s get started!
Take the upper half-ladder (item 162) and mount the half-clamps (item 28) on it. It is best to mount the half-clamps under the rungs of the ladder – once the whole thing is folded, they will rest on them. Note: do not tighten the screw for connecting the half-clamps (item 93) all the way, but only enough to hold the half-clamps. In the next stages, you will have to unscrew it.
Secure the sliding arches in the mounting clips – exactly as shown in the picture. The next step is to assemble the gymnastic bar and crossbeam using the key included in the set. Do everything as shown in the pictures below.
Okay, now unscrew the 93 screws and install the washers (item no. 85).
Finally, it’s time for the breakthrough step – connecting both main parts of the ladder. So now connect the lower ladder to the upper ladder that you’ve been folding so far. The numbers of the elements and the method of connection are shown below:
Whew, we’ve already done half the work – now we have to attach the ladder to the wall. To do this, we first need to screw the mounting sleeves (no. 29) with the plugs (no. 30). The set should contain six such elements
Now, using the half-clamps (item 31), attach the mounting sleeves to the ladder. Attach the first pair of half-clamps above the first runging the lower ladder. The next one is just above the lowest rung of the upper ladder, and the last one is above the highest rung of the upper ladder. We screw the installed half-clamps using a 93 screw, on the ends of which we put a cap (item no. 75). We have illustrated this in detail in the drawings below:
Wow – you are really close to the finish! At this stage, you will see how the ladder will look attached to the wall! Place the ladder in the place where you want to mount it and push it against the wall.
Then have your assistant draw the holes in the wall elements of the mounting sleeves with a pencil – this is where we will later mount the screws to attach the ladder to the wall. Which holes exactly? We show in the drawing below:
Oh my – we are really so close that I feel like jumping just thinking about the acrobatics you will soon do on our ladder! Okay, no point in wasting time talking – We are mounting the dowels in the wall! Use a drill to drill holes in the places marked on the wall. Now press the anchors (item no. 87) into them – you can lightly tap them with a small hammer. Screw and unscrew an anchor screw (item no. 79) into each driven anchor.
And finally – mount the ladder to the wall!
Have one person place the assembled ladder against the wall – there should be anchors in the holes in the wall part of the mounting sleeves. Now the task for the second person: place a metal washer (item 81) on the anchor screw (item 79) and through the hole in the wall part of the mounting sleeve, screw it into the anchor driven into the wall. Once the screws are tightened, simply slide the cap to the wall part of the mounting sleeves. The cap should mask the tightened screws. Phew – we won’t hide the fact that there’s a bit of confusion with this assembly, but don’t worry – we’ve shown everything in the drawings below:
Voilà – Your ladder is assembled and attached to the wall! The set also includes gymnastic rings on a rope. I’ll explain how to mount them on the ladder. If for some reason you don’t want to install them, be sure to go to the next point of this manual. We’ll tell you how to check if the ladder is properly assembled and attached to the wall, and therefore whether it’s safe to train on it.
Mounting gymnastic rings on the pull-up ladder
On both sliding arcs (item 53), attach the clips-guide (item 49) and the metal clamps (item no. 100.2) to them.
The ropes for the gymnastic rings are finished with a fastening element. There is a hole in this element – align it with the hole in the fastening clamp and insert the locking pin (item no. 100.3) into it. Then place the washers as in the picture below and tighten the whole thing with a screw. You can see how to do it exactly in the drawings below:
And this is how we tie the gymnastic rings and trapezes:
Okay – your Next 1 gymnastic ladder is now fully ready and you can start pull-ups, bends, hangs and various other acrobatics.
