Having your own wall bars is the dream of many a person who values and cares about their fitness, especially if they spend most of their day sitting down. A gymnastic ladder can be a permanent element of the equipment in an office, bedroom or any other room – the key issue is its proper fit into the space of a given interior. So today we decided to tell you a little more about installing a gymnastic ladder at home. What construction standards should a room meet to allow for the installation of gymnastic ladders? Let’s check!
Wall bars – aesthetic exercise equipment
The development of social awareness in the field of taking care of physical condition has meant that more and more people have private exercise equipment. However, not everyone in their house or apartment is able to dedicate an entire room to a home gym. An alternative to a private gym that requires less space may be a single training device, on which we will perform a comprehensive body workout.
Such equipment includes, for example, so-called home gym sets, atlases or gymnastic ladders – however, it is worth mentioning here that the aesthetics of the first two mentioned sports equipment can effectively disrupt the harmony of the room in which they are located. The case is slightly different in the case of gymnastic ladders – in recent times, enormous progress has been made in terms of the design of such equipment. Gymnastic ladders are enjoying constantly growing popularity, precisely because of the wide range of exercises that we can perform on them. In practice, with the help of a gymnastic ladder and using our own body weight, we will train all muscle groups and develop a healthy, aesthetic figure.
We mentioned the progress that has been made in the design of gymnastic ladders. Today, matching an exercise ladder to the decor of a room is not the slightest problem – we can choose, for example, aesthetic and subdued wooden exercise ladders such as the wall bars Maximus Plus or the flashy and bright yellow wall bars Gladiator Light. Most of the ladder models from our store are available in several color variants, so you can easily match their color to the rest of the room’s decor.
Wall bars assembly – ladder types
Wall bars can be divided into two types in terms of the assembly system:
The wall-mounted gymnastics ladder is mounted directly to the wall using solid steel screws. The ladder is usually mounted at four or six points. When it comes to expansion ladders, they are mounted at four, six or even eight (depending on the model’s design) points to the ceiling and walls.

The advantage of the expansion assembly is that it is done without the use of screws – so you don’t have to drill holes in the walls. Wall or expansion – which ladder model is best to choose? It depends on what type of walls and ceiling we are dealing with in a given room – which we will write more about below. At the end of this paragraph, we will mention that in both cases the assembly is simple and precisely described in the instructions supplied with the ladder, it is also possible to purchase an assembly service performed by our fitters.

What walls are suitable for installing wall bars?
Wall bars are mounted to standard brick walls. This type of equipment should not be installed on walls made of plasterboard, glass and glass blocks or various types of partition walls. Only mounting to a solid, brick wall made of cement or bricks guarantees the stability of the equipment during the exercise. Speaking of stability, we should add that the ladder attached to the wall cannot wobble – if we notice vibrations of the equipment during the exercise, it is necessary to check whether the equipment has not started to detach from the wall. Exercises must not be performed on unstable equipment, because it poses a real threat to the person doing the training!
What kind of ceiling is it better to mount a gymnastics ladder to?
As we have already mentioned, an alternative to wall ladders are expansion gymnastic ladders. Such ladders should not be mounted to suspended ceilings or ceilings made of plasterboard. A expansion gymnastic ladder mounted to a brick ceiling in accordance with the instructions will always be stable during exercise.
